1. How did you train and get prepare for Aquathlon ORIGIN in this current situation (having social distancing measures in place)?
I mainly train with Metasport swimming training on Monday and Wednesday and track run training on Tuesday. On Saturdays, I go to Sentosa for open water swim training with a few like-minded friends who would like to practice open water swim. Running is my hobby and passion. I go for a trail run once or twice a week at Nature Reserve area when I don’t train with MetaSport.
2. Due to the rolling start, the Aquathlon format is very much like a time trial format.
Does this change your race strategy? How or why not?
What is your target?
I am not so good at swimming, compared to my running abilities. I was planning to draft someone who is slightly faster than me in water. But, I guess it’s hard to do so if I’m matched up with a super fast swimmer at the rolling start. So, yes, my race strategy has to change. Just do my best, I guess? I have no target time, really. If I can be on a podium in my age group, that would be a bonus! Just do my best and enjoy the race 🙂
3. What are you looking forward to for this upcoming Aquathlon ORIGIN event?
I love races. I love the exciting race atmosphere.
Cheering my athlete friends is also a fun part of racing! I will be also volunteering to help out the race after my own race, that will add more fun at this aquathlon ORIGIN race 🙂
