MetaSport will not be responsible for any disputes arising from incomplete and/or incorrect entry details given by the participants.
Aquathlon Relay Teams consist of 2 members, each doing one discipline.
Duathlon and Triathlon Relay Teams may be made up of 2 or 3 members.
Club and School names may be added to a participant’s entry up until 7 days prior to race day. After this no further additional are accepted.
Requests for Club and School names to be added must come from the individual participant and cannot be requested by a teacher, coordinator or club captain.
Only participants aged under 19 years are permitted to enter the School Challenge. Parents and Teachers must join the applicable Club team.
Age category is determined by the participant’s age on 31 December 2024.
Participants must be 16 years old on 31 December 2024 to compete in the Sprint Distance (individual and relay).
Participants must be 16 years old on 31 December 2024 to compete in the Discovery Distance.
Participants must be 12 to 15 years old on 31 December 2024 to compete in the Youth distance.
Participants must be 8 to 11 years old on 31 December 2024 to compete in the Kids distance.
Changes to team relay members are permitted until registration closing date. An admin fee of S$20 will apply per change of person.
Upgrade or downgrade of a race entry is permitted until registration closing date. An admin fee of S$20 will apply per change.
All changes must be made 7 days before race day.
Individual race entries are non-transferable. Any person doing so will be held responsible in case of an accident arising from or provoked by the other person during the race. MetaSport reserves the right to exclude both parties from future events.
Once the registration form has been processed, there will be no fee refund for the participants who, for whatever reason, eventually do not take part.
Verbal abuse of our staff via email, telephone or in person will not be tolerated. MetaSport reserves the right to cancel an athlete’s entry at any time if their actions are deemed in breach of this rule.
General
MetaSport reserves the right to limit and refuse entries.
MetaSport reserves the right to remove any participant deemed physically incapable of continuing the race.
MetaSport reserves the right to amend the race rules without prior notification.
MetaSport reserves the right to amend the race course and venue without prior notice to participants.
Participants are required to place their bicycles and gear at their designated location in the transition area.
Participants in the relay categories must tag their teammates at the designated handover area after their respective legs.
Prior to race day, in the event of inclement weather, force majeure or other hazardous conditions, MetaSport reserves the right to reschedule or cancel the race without any refund of registration fees.
On race day, in the event of inclement weather, force majeure or other hazardous conditions, MetaSport reserves the right to delay the commencement of the race, shorten the race or modify the course.
Should the inclement weather or other hazardous conditions persist after the delay, MetaSport reserves the right to cancel the race.
The swim, bike and run disciplines may have time limitations. Participants that do not make the time limit will be removed from the course.
Participants shall be aware that while all possible care will be taken by the event organiser to safeguard the bag deposit items, MetaSport shall not be held liable in the unlikely event of missing or damaged items. Participants are advised to avoid depositing valuable or fragile items while using the bag deposit service.
Parents are not permitted into the transition area to assist their child during any race, nor are they permitted to swim, cycle or run alongside their child while the race is in progress.
The Race Director and MetaSport have overall authority over the race results and interpretation of the race rules.
Swim
Swimsuits must be worn.
All swimmers must wear the swim caps provided by MetaSport.
Swim goggles may be worn.
A swim safety buoy may be worn for increased visibility so long as the athlete does not interfere with the path of fellow swimmers.
Fins, paddles, pool buoys, snorkels or any other swimming aids are not allowed.
Wetsuits are not allowed.
Support crews are not allowed. Any assistance, other than medical aid received during the swim will result in immediate disqualification.
No persons other than the participants and officials are permitted in the swimming area.
Swimmers in difficulty shall signal by raising an arm to the escorting boats/canoes for assistance.
Once assistance is rendered, the competitor must retire from the competition.
Breach of any of the above rules will result in disqualification.
Bike
No bare torso is allowed at any time.
Helmets must be worn with helmet sticker paste at the front.
Shoes must be worn.
Wearing headphones is not allowed at any time.
E-bikes, fixed-gear and ambulant bikes are also not allowed.
Your bicycle, drivetrain and brakes must be in good working condition.
Athletes must paste the bike flag with their race number on their seat post.
Breach of any of the above rules will result in disqualification.
Non-drafting rules apply:
Keep a 5m distance from cyclists ahead of you, unless overtaking.
You have 20 seconds to make the pass.
‘Stop & Go’ penalties are applied without warning.
Stop & Go penalty: stop on the left side of the course and place both feet on the ground before continuing your ride.
Run
Runners must wear their race numbers clearly visible at the front of their apparel at all times.
Support vehicles or pacers are not allowed.
Runners must run on the designated path for the entire route.
No bare torso is allowed at any time.
Barefoot running is not allowed, shoes must be worn at all times during the run leg.
Wearing of headphones is not allowed at any time.
Breach of any of the above rules will result in disqualification.
Personal Health Risks & Precautions
Participants must comply with any public health and/or safety directions from MetaSport staff, representatives, contractors, police, health authorities or other government authorities.
Participants must comply with health safety screening and contact tracing activities by methods selected by MetaSport.
